Facilities Maintenance Program:
The Facilities Maintenance curriculum is a multi-trade vocational shop designed to train students in a wide variety of construction skills. Included in the instruction are OSHA safety and general employability skills such as cooperation, task completion, self initiative, and time management. The hard skills component provides pre-apprenticeship skills in the following areas:
CARPENTRY:
Use of hand and power tools, basic framing, sheet rocking, taping, and trim molding
PLUMBING:
Sink and toilet repair and installation, PVC pipe fitting, soldering, auger use
ELECTRICAL:
Replace outlets, switches, fixtures. Repair/replace fluorescent and incandescent lighting.
LANDSCAPING:
Hand and power tool use, grounds equipment, trimming and pruning.
FLOORING:
Ceramic tile installation and repair, VCT installation and repair
PAINTING:
Interior surface preparation and painting of classrooms, doors and trim
